Valley Of The Rocks
‘Valley Of The Rocks’ came about by finding a wonderful North Devon photographer online - check him out @shaunselleyphotography. He’d taken this beautiful shot of the Valley Of The Rocks (near Lynton North Devon), which he kindly gave me permission to paint my interpretation of it. It took me a long time to visit the Valley Of The Rocks in person … I’m not sure why .. always seems there is too much to do, which I’m trying to rectify this year. It took me even longer to complete this painting … in fact it’s taken just under 3 years. This in itself is interesting, as I started this painting at a different time in my life, in a different place which I wasn’t quite ready to end, but weirdly this year I have found happy closure on this part of my life and in finishing this wonderful painting (which I am very proud of), it has shut the door and allowed new creativity to fill my mind. I hope to keep expanding my series of coastal paintings to share the beautiful North Devon coastline with you.
