Lost Souls
Inspired by my love and temporary loss of the ocean during the pandemic, ‘Lost Souls’ is very poignant.
This painting is about lockdown and feelings of loneliness and separation. Like a lot of people worldwide, I felt true heartbreak at the sudden removal from everything I love and treasure in my life., which made me feel desperately lonely and lost. I’m so thankful I had my wonderful dog for company and that I found painting to be such therapy. It was spending time thinking about this bizarre situation which made me realise there were others feeling exactly the same as me and in a way, this felt reassuring and connectiv. The beautiful colours in this painting show a sense of the light and positivity we all had to hang on to.
